Client: Tecnoblu

Tecnoblu is label and packaging design company located in the southern part of Brazil. In 2008 I was part of Tecnoblu’s packaging design team, for which I designed and developed different packaging designs for the ‘book’ of 2009.

Tecnoblu is a company that develops labels, rubercoated products, tags, handles, appliques, lacing and braids in three dimensional, reflective, me- tallic, natural, special and innovative materials since 1994. The company works with a lot of famous brazilian clothes brands (e.g. colcci). In the last 15 years Tecnoblu grow from small family company to a company that’s producing nearly 5 million labels every day and withtheir vision to be the main reference for Brazilian an Latin American clothes brands it will probably become even bigger.

Main product Tecnoblu is focussing on is labels and tags and with jeans brands as their major client they produce a lot of tags for jeans. Every year in December Tecnoblu launches a new book with the new labels for that year. These labels are created with help of trend research, new materials, new production techniques and new designs.

From 2007 Tecnoblu started with the creation of a packaging line. With this new direction Tecnoblu gives their customers the opportunity to buy a special kind of packaging for their product (e.g. jeans). This packaging may attract consumers in buying a piece of clothing because of the packaging they receive with it.

In 2008 I was part of the design team for the new packaging line of 2009. As most of my colleagues had a graphical background and experience with 2D products, my main contribution was to show different ‘hands-on’ design methods for designing physical 3D products. Furthermore I did different individual projects for clients like Artex, the state of Santa Catarina, and more.
